Fort Shannon
Fort Shannon is an old World War II bunker that was built on the mouth of the Shannon as a defense against invaders attempting to land via the river Shannon.
An old colonial prison and court that has been kept as a museum,
but the old style of the building has been maintained.
This location has wifi, toilets, a small cafe and parking for approximately 10 cars.
Domestic power supply is also on location
and it’s only a 100 metres walk into the centre of Tarbert village
where you will find more services such as shops and B&Bs.
