Tarbert Fairy Fort and Wishing Tree
The wishing tree is a local landmark in Tarbert and features in the best-selling book, ‘Heritage Trees of Ireland’.
Tarbert house is located two kilometres outside the village of Tarbert.
Dating from around 1690, it was built in the Queen Anne architectural style by the Leslie family. The family’s descendants have lived there ever since. The location offers: gardens; a wood; toilets; parking; a domestic power supply; and a view onto the Shannon Estuary. The Bridewell, the Wishing Tree, Tarbert Ferry, Tarbert Lighthouse and The Bridewell are all within a two minute drive and are featured in this database.
